Fair questions

What does "your own private instance" actually mean?
Every cloud customer gets a completely separate copy of the software with its own isolated database — not a row in a shared system. Nobody else's traffic touches yours, nobody else's data sits alongside yours, and your instance can be exported or handed to you in full at any time.
Who owns the data?
You do, without asterisks. On cloud plans we host your isolated instance, and you can take a full export at any time. On the self-hosted license the data never touches us at all — it lives on your server, full stop. We think vendor lock-in is a design flaw, not a business model.
Does TradiePro really work offline?
The web app requires a connection to your instance. The iOS app v2 — in development now — carries a full local database, so the job card, photos, checklists and status updates keep working with zero signal. Everything syncs automatically when you're back in coverage. This is being built by someone who works offshore on an FPSO, so "offline" is not a marketing word here.
Can it talk to Xero?
Xero sync ships on the Business plan (the groundwork is already built from our Workshop Manager system). In the meantime, TradiePro does what most tools use Xero for: GST reports on invoice or payments basis, receivables ageing, and job profitability — all built in, no Xero subscription required.
We're on Tradify. How painful is switching?
Export your customers from Tradify as a CSV, send it to us, and we'll load it into your new instance as part of onboarding. Open jobs are usually best re-entered (most say it takes an afternoon and doubles as staff training). Your Tradify export stays readable for historical reference.
What's the Marine & Plant CMMS and when can I get it?
CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) planned for vessels and industrial plant — equipment registers, running-hours PM schedules, work orders, critical spares and class-ready audit trails, offline-first. It ships in 2027. Joining the founding-operator list at the CMMS page locks the lowest rate we'll ever offer it at.
What if we need something the standard product doesn't do?
Email us. We have built custom modules into Workshop Manager for specific customer needs and we're open to doing the same for the right TradiePro or CMMS customer. Bespoke development is priced per project, with the resulting feature going into the product for everyone.
What happens if AESS disappears tomorrow?
You keep operating. Cloud customers can take a full export of their instance (database and media files) at any time without needing our help. The self-hosted product runs on your hardware with or without us. We publish the install scripts openly so you can maintain it yourself if needed.

Privacy policy

The short version: your data is yours. We collect the minimum needed to run the service, sell nothing to anyone, and there is no analytics or advertising inside any of our products.

The iOS app (TradiePro)

The TradiePro app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to AESS or any third party. All information you enter is sent solely to the TradiePro server address you configure, which is operated by you or your business. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking. Camera and photo access are used only to attach photos to jobs on your own server.

Cloud-hosted instances

Your instance's database and media are isolated per customer, encrypted in transit, backed up for disaster recovery, and never inspected except with your explicit permission for a support request. Full exports are available on request at any time. On cancellation, data is deleted after 30 days unless you request earlier deletion.

This website

This site sets no tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics. The CMMS waiting-list form stores only your email address, used only to contact you about the CMMS launch. One reply unsubscribes you.
